Rangers fans are hugely in favour of re-signing Kyle Lafferty this summer, six years after he left the club to join Swiss side Sion.

The forward has been heavily linked with a move to Ibrox in recent days after the Gers launched a bid to sign him, offering £200,000 to Hearts, which was swiftly rejected.

However, it is expected that we will return with a second bid, as reported by The Daily Record.

With just a year left on his contract at Tynecastle, it puts Hearts into a difficult position, with the lure of Rangers likely to pull the player away from them.

Scoring 19 goals last season, he proved he can still make a big impact in the Scottish Premiership. Three of those goals came against Celtic too, suggesting he still relishes playing the big matches against our city rivals.

Supporters would love to see him back, with 78% of respondents to a poll we published during the week believing that the club should make their move for him.

  • I’d love to see Kyle back where he belongs, at Ibrox. He is a much bigger threat to any defence than anybody we have had for years. In addition, Celtic fear him more than they fear any forward that Rangers have used against them for many years. I saw their defenders lighting cigars whilst controlling our feeble attack last year. In addition–we have too many players who seemed to be scared of Celtic’s wee hardman Scott Brown. Kyle has no fears of him–but I think that Brown will not feel so tough against Lafferty!!! If Rangers do not have enough money for a MUCH IMPROVED OFFER–ask the fans for a whipround to raise about half a million on to the £ 200,000 already offered, and give them Lee Wallace as well–as he is no longer of any use to Rangers. (just cluttering up the payroll.) Please Mr.Allen–help Stevie G. to make all our hopes come true–GET LAFFERTY

  • remember him saying he couldnt bring his family up in glasgow whats changed in six years, leave well alone, born in northern ireland myself, would die for gers never mind walk away, think twice stevie.
