Rangers stormed to a 3-0 win in the Scottish Premiership for the second successive mate on Sunday, this time beating Motherwell at Fir Park.

Following up the Wednesday night win over Hearts with the same scoreline this weekend, it’s clear that Steven Gerrard has gotten the reaction he was looking for in the wake of last week’s derby defeat.

Scott Arfield was the goal hero of the day, netting a superb hat-trick after combining superbly with on-loan striker Jermain Defoe.

Defoe was impressive throughout the match despite not finding the back of the net, unselfishly setting up his teammate to put the game beyond doubt.

The Bournemouth man has had to remain patient for first-team chances in recent months but is doing his chances of being selected more by Steven Gerrard no harm at all.

Many feel his team-focused performance was the perfect study guide for under fire forward Alfredo Morelos, who has been criticised for his selfishness this season.

Some even believe Defoe should stay in the team ahead of the Colombian when the 22-year-old returns from suspension.

These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the veteran’s performance…
