This is the one.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has arrived in London, ahead of talks with the Rangers hierarchy today.

The Dutchman is the strong favourite with the fans to become the next manager at Ibrox, but various sources have intimated that the club intends to speak to all shortlisted candidates.

Earlier this morning, in an exclusive from The Ibrox Channel, GvB was spotted making his way through London City Airport, ahead of a day of dialogue that will determine his future. We know that he wants the job and that Rangers are keen, but at this stage nothing is guaranteed.

The talks will include wages, squad budgets and plans, as well as expectations for a very important season and beyond.

Depending on how far the discussion progress this weekend, we could have a new man in place by the time all of Rangers internationals return for full training on Wednesday – that is what what many are hoping for but it is not certain, which leaves the prospect of Rangers going into the League Cup semi-final next weekend with Jermain Defoe and B team coach David McCallum providing direction.

That is a situation that can’t last any longer than what it needs to – one game – so there is is a sense of urgency all round that a deal will be completed sooner rather than later.
