Giovanni van Bronckhorst has revealed the key factor behind the transformation of Alfredo Morelos’ form during his early time in charge at Ibrox.

Not only has there been a evident change to the role of the Colombian on the pitch for the Scottish champions, there has also been a better temperament and more positive body language shown by the Gers main man, up front.

The former is a direct consequence to the preferred tactics of the Dutchman, while the latter is all down to better communication and the ability of the coaches to directly address Morelos in his mother tongue as both GvB and his assistant, Roy Makaay are fluent Spanish speakers.

This important ability has been fully utilised for the greater good, as told to De Telegraaf:

“I enjoyed working with Roy (Makaay) at Feyenoord and would have liked to take him to China when I moved there. That didn’t work at the time but now he’s back on board.  It is an advantage for (Alfredo) Morelos that Roy speaks Spanish like me. Every player has his own story and we worked with him in our own way. “

“I watched videos of him playing before we came to the club. He was dropping too deep and coming out of the striker’s role a bit too often. We just want him to operate in the box.”

“Morelos feels happy and he has scored a lot. So it’s looking good. I just want us as a Rangers team to become one machine. No exceptions are made for players.”

Collective

As initimated by the Rangers manager, the “one machine” is otoring along very nicely at present. Subtle changes made by the management staff have been well received by the squad for collective gain, as well as individual improvement for the likes of Morelos.

Yes, football is all about doing the talking on the pitch but communication is universal and the impact of speaking Spanish with the Colombian appears to be reaping its rewards with six goals in eight appearances since the change in the dug-out at Ibrox.

Mas, por favor is all that the Rangers supporters want.
