Rangers fans are delighted with the news that midfielder Steven Davis will stay at Ibrox beyond this season.

The club announced the signing earlier today, ending speculation about the veteran Northern Ireland international’s future.

His move to the Gers in January was on a loan basis, with his contract at parent club Southampton expiring at the end of the season.

Initially struggling to make an impact in Steven Gerrard’s side, some had questioned whether we would offer him a deal.

However he’s come into the first-team in recent weeks and looked very impressive, with the decision makers at Ibrox wasting no time in signing him up until 2020.

The 34-year-old’s experience and trophy winning pedigree could be absolutely vital to our quest for major honours next season as we look to stop Celtic from winning a ninth league title in a row.

Supporters were thrilled with the announcement, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
