Two weeks isn’t that long for a transfer to be considered a saga, and yet, because of how quiet Rangers have been in the market, Antonio Colak’s move from PAOK Salonika feels like it has dragged on for ages.

Things may be about to change though and, as everyone appears to know, a deal that has been agreed by all parties looks as though the “i’s” can be dotted and the “t’s” crossed after The Daily Express reported positive news from Greece earlier today:

“The Antonio Colak to Rangers transfer saga is set to be resolved in the next 48 hours as PAOK Salonika have secured a deal for his replacement.

“It’s understood a fee for the German-born striker and personal terms have been agreed between all parties with the Croatian international choosing Rangers over Malmo, where he was on loan, FC Copenhagen and Real Mallorca in Spain.

“It’s being reported that PAOK have now clinched a deal for German striker Khaled Narey from Bundesliga 2 side Fortuna Dusseldorf and this will now lead to the completion of the Colak transfer with the 28-year-old expected to arrive in Glasgow in the next couple of days.”

It’s encouraging to see that Malmo wanted him back again, he must have done a decent enough job for them on top of the goals he scored in his time in Sweden, and they made it to the group stages of the Champions League.

Getting Colak in would tick one box off in terms of attacking reinforcements, it’s also handy that he has now played two friendly fixtures for PAOK , not being behind the curve in terms of fitness should help him no end, especially with both Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos not yet ready to return to competitive action.
