Rangers moved back into second place in the SPL after a decent display netted a 2-1 win over in-form St Mirren at Ibrox on Saturday.
It was a blistering start for the Champions as Kris Boyd pounced ahead of Nacho Novo to net the opener from close range after just 16 seconds.
A fine curving shot from John Fleck was saved by the keeper but Boyd got Rangers off to a great start with this finish.
As has so often been the case this season, Rangers somewhat took their foot off of the gas and allowed St Mirren back into the game.
Andy Dorman nearly equalised with a long-range effort just before half-time.
The second half was short of chances but Boyd doubled the advantage after some fine work from Nacho Novo again from close-range.
Despite an all-round decent display, Danny Wilson and Davie Weir were breached by sub Stephen O’Donnell who pulled one back for the Buddies late on, but Rangers held on despite a nervy finish.
