The on/off transfer saga of Andreas Skov Olsen and whether or not the Denmark international will be heading to Rangers has taken another turn, the price tag and rumours that he was heading to Belgium to sign for Club Brugge seemingly ruling out any possible move.

There have been reports in Italy over the last week that we are still very much looking to add the 22-year old to our squad though and that the Bologna winger remains our top target for the January transfer window, a £5million bid potential on the table.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, journalist Peter O’Rourke claims that he is the one who has been on the radar of the Ibrox outfit for some time and they are determined to get their man:

“Skov Olsen, from Bologna, seems to be the one that Ross Wilson and van Bronckhorst have been pushing for.

“He is the one that they’ve been tracking for quite a long time.”

The Italians want to sell Skov Olsen, that seems to be abundantly clear with Calvin Ramsay of Aberdeen the man they want to replace him as an out and out right wing-back rather than making do with the Dane filling in at a position he isn’t comfortable in.

It is the one area of the pitch that Rangers fans will unanimously agree that we need to strengthen and for all that Skov Olsen is predominantly left-footed, he is capable of going on the outside too to deliver crosses.

We need more goals from our support forwards and Skov Olsen has shown in the past how deadly he can be cutting inside onto his favoured foot, usually if our sporting director sets his sights on someone he is successful – let’s hope he gets his man this time too.
