Rangers have lost out in their bid to get more tickets for the match at Tynecastle in March. Rangers wanted 3,500 tickets for the match which takes place on March 18th 2006 but Hearts are only making 2,100 tickets available leaving 1,400 fans disappointed.

Rangers claim that Hearts gave the same allocation as the previous season but Hearts insisted no promise was made.

An SPL investigation has came to the conclusion that Hearts are within their rights only to allocate 2,100.

A statement on Rangers official website said: ‘This is particularly frustrating given the fact that Rangers supporters have travelled in large numbers to Tynecastle over the years, filling the entire Roseburn Stand, when Hearts could not sell those tickets to their own supporters.’

Meanwhile Hearts chairman Roman Romanov has said: ‘This is a fair outcome to the matter. We have said all along that we are keen to provide as much opportunity as possible for as many of our fans to watch games at Tynecastle.’

‘And this decision ensures that we will have a large support in the stadium for the next home league match against Rangers.’
