Rangers failed to secure passage to the knockout stages of the Europa League after a 2-2 draw with Feyenoord but they did make it an awful lot easier for themselves after a stirring second half performance as reported by BBC Sport.

Alfredo Morelos again proved to be the match winner with two stunning headers to first, bring the Ibrox side level, then put them in front but they couldn’t hold on as the Dutch side drew level soon after with a draw (probably) being a fair result.

If Morelos was the man in the second half if was Allan McGregor that kept the  Light Blues in contention at half-time with a series of stunning saves, proving once again how important he is to the success of Steven Gerrard’s side.

Will Rangers progress to knockout stages of the Europa League?

Yes

No

No

Despite not quite making it through to the last 32, Rangers fans were relieved to come away with a draw in a result that leaves them top of the group and requiring just a point from the final match against Young Boys at home.

They took to Twitter to reflect on the result with a mixture of relief and pride.

The draw leaves progress in Rangers own hands as they look for European football after Christmas for the first time since 2010/11, Gerrard continues to defy his inexperience with his remarkable run of results on the continent.
