It’s taken a long time but Rangers are getting there in terms of breaking free from some of the contracts that were agreed in the aftermath of our administration in 2012, one or two still remain but this summer saw some positive news for match going fans.

The catering contract at Ibrox has been awarded to Levy and, according to The Caterer, there is a lot to look forward to:

“Levy will create a new menu, serving fan favourites and embracing the history and global heritage of the club, while aiming to focus on sustainable, local Scottish produce in line with the company’s target to be net zero by 2027. Levy will also introduce digital screens and other technologies at the venue.

“In partnership with Rangers, Levy will be managing non-match day meetings, conferences and events, including private celebrations and Christmas parties.”

A select number of lucky fans were given a first taster of things to come through a MyGers competition and, it’s safe to say that they were spoilt rotten with the Heart and Hand podcast providing an insight into what we could expect at the kiosks next season and beyond.

In fairness, it wasn’t a high bar but, it looks as though the new menu and catering provision will be night and day from what we’ve seen in recent years and is another step in the right direction in making us a market leader across the board both on, and off the pitch.
