Gerrard wants 10-cap international at Rangers this summer – four other clubs interested

|

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is keen on bringing Liverpool attacker Ben Woodburn to Ibrox this summer, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

You may remember back in January that the club were then linked with a loan move for the 10-cap Welsh international, something that failed to come off with the player still recovering from an injury.

Gerrard though is said to still be a fan in this latest report from the paper and will compete with clubs like Blackburn Rovers, Brentford, Hull City and West Bromwich Albion for his signature when the transfer window opens.

The report states that Rangers are hoping to convince Liverpool that he can make as much progress as Ryan Kent did this season on loan.

Woodburn has had a difficult 2019/20 campaign having not managed to make an impact on loan at Sheffield United in the first half of the season, but has been impressing Liverpool coaches in action for the U23s side recently, including a double against a fairly strong Gers side in a closed-doors bounce game last week.

He could certainly prove to be an exciting option at Ibrox next term, with the move relatively risk free from our perspective.
