Rangers manager Steven Gerrard will make a personal visit to old club Liverpool in an effort to persuade the Anfield club to extend Ryan Kent’s loan into next season, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The paper say that the Reds are looking to sell the impressive winger, but that Gerrard hasn’t given up hope of landing a coup and bringing him to Ibrox for another loan.

With Fulham and Huddersfield both interested, according to the report, that could prove difficult, but it seems Gerrard is intent on leveraging his Liverpool connections as much as possible to deliver a signing coup.

Kent has been a real fan favourite at the club so far this season, scoring six goals and assisting nine more throughout the 2018/19 campaign.

He does need to bring more consistency to his game in terms of direct goal contribution, but the signs are there he can go on to achieve that if he sticks around at Ibrox next season.

Signing him again on a loan deal is a definite no-brainer and if Gerrard can get the deal done it would be a real signal of intent that we will be going all out to stop Celtic winning another league title next year.
