As the end of the season draws nearer, there will be an increased focus and interest regarding the upcoming EURO2020 tournament.

The same also applies at Ibrox with more than a few current players aiming to grab a piece of the Summer action with their respective nations.

The likes of Filip Helander, Borna Barisic, Glen Kamara, Ianis Hagi plus a couple more will all be in contention for the final squads.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has previously stated that he wants his players playing on the international stage – that means they have the requisite quality and the higher the level, the better – from a club perspective.

Gerrard was asked on his thoughts, ahead of several anticipated call-ups:

“We are hoping we have got six or seven involved in it but I don’t think anyone has had full confirmation just yet.”

“I think normally national teams wait until a certain date and leagues are coming to an end and the games have finished before they name squads, just in case someone gets an injury or something happens when they can’t go.”

“I think we are on the cusp of squads getting announced and we are hoping that six or seven of our players go and represent the club in the best way that they can.”
