Many of the players in the Rangers first team have done well this season, with the Gers impressing. Our draw against Villareal last night was a testament to that, with every single individual putting in a solid performance to get us a very important point.
Following the game, and in the lead-up to our league game with Hearts, Steven Gerrard has been discussing the form of his players, and he’s singled out one individual for particular praise.
Allan McGregor is the man in question. The 36-year-old goalkeeper put in yet another very solid performance in Europe on Thursday, and there’s an argument to suggest that he’s the reason why we were able to keep the game level.
As per the official Rangers Twitter, Gerrard has described him as ‘very professional’, before praising his improvement with every passing week.
SG: McGregor has been very professional on and off the pitch. He is back at his club and enjoying his football. He seems to be getting better and better each week which is, strange really!

SG: I’ve watched him (McGregor) over the years and I’ve buried a few past him in my playing days, he has always been a top keeper.

Certainly, McGregor deserves a lot of praise. Whilst he’s no longer a spring chicken, his form continues to improve and he’s kept us in the more than a few games already this season.
We know we’ve always got a chance when he’s between the sticks.
Thoughts?
