According to the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard has left Jake Hastie out of the squad to face Progres in the Europa League qualifying round that we have up next.
Ruthless as a player and certainly one that kept the highest of standards, it is clear that he has carried that into management with another display of that in recent days.
Hastie, of course, is a new signing and arrived at the club earlier this summer officially but did not really pull up any trees during the game with St Joseph’s last time out.
Indeed, despite us winning 6-0, the Gers’ boss clearly wants more from his players and Hastie is now out of the squad with Filip Helander one man that is coming in.
It remains to be seen how we get on in the next round, then, but it is clear Gerrard is ready to be as ruthless as ever in the pursuit of results.
