Gerrard set to go all out to deliver impressive attacker at Rangers in upcoming transfer window

|

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard will do everything he can to deliver the Ryan Kent signing every fan wants this summer, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

Kent has been an impressive performer throughout this season, growing as an effective attacking talent since arriving on loan from Liverpool last year.

Gerrard admits that his emergence at Ibrox means it’s unlikely a permanent transfer will come to fruition, but won’t give up hope of signing the winger until it becomes impossible.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, the Ibrox boss said:

I think it would unlikely be a permanent move. The numbers being spoken about, I’m out.

I would be more confident about getting him back on a loan. If Liverpool wanted to sell him, that’s out of my hands. We’ll have to wait and see.

I don’t know who is going to be at the table and at what price and what Liverpool want for Ryan. That’s none of my business.

There are a lot of boxes ticked with him being at Rangers. Liverpool know that, Ryan and his people know that and we certainly understand that.

We have to make sure we have an offer for Ryan.

Our supporters need to know I’m doing everything I can to make sure he is here next year because he is one of the people I want to build the team around.

With six goals and nine assists so far this season, there’s no doubt Kent can improve upon his direct goal contribution, but you’d fancy him to kick on next season if the move can be arranged.

Gerrard’s intention when it comes to the 22-year-old couldn’t be clearer. He wants the winger to be one of the first names on his teamsheets next season and will be going all out to make it happen.

Later confirming that Kent is enjoying every minute of being at the club, Gerrard is at least giving fans some hope that moves are going on behind the scenes that could see us pull off the signing coup.
