Gerrard Racks Up Another Win As Rangers Take Europa League Qualifying Advantage

Rangers took to the Ibrox pitch earlier this evening to face FC Ufa in the Europa League Qualifying Play-Off first leg.

Manager Steven Gerrard certainly wasn’t taking them lightly with a very strong starting lineup once again and given action elsewhere the aim would’ve been to kill the tie tonight, worst case better one result in particular – that meant just win.

Fresh from his signature on a new contract, Kyle Lafferty also took a place on the bench.

A Connor Goldson effort in the 41st minute of the game gave us the first leg advantage against FC Ufa as we edge towards the proper stages of the Europa League in 2018/19 and by rights, the margin of victory should’ve been greater.

Lafferty got to make his debut once more in the second half as he continues to settle back into life at the club following his arrival from Hearts, but regardless of what happened elsewhere earlier in the evening – we got the win and are a step closer to achieving what would’ve been Gerrard’s first aim in the competition, the Group Stage phase.
