Earlier today Rangers confirmed the capture of FK Osijek’s international left-back Borna Barisic.

The left-sided 25-year-old was hugely impressive in our two-legged Europa League tie against Osijek and he caused us plenty of problems in the game, and speculation the other day was incredibly high that he’d impressed enough to earn a deal with us.

That has proven to be true and he has penned a four-year deal at Ibrox for a deal worth to be a reported £2million transfer. He now has three caps to his name for Croatia, taking in international matches against China, Chile and Mexico and he’ll no doubt be hoping for more having stepped up to our level.

What this ultimately means for the future of Lee Wallace is open for debate, and manager Steven Gerrard could use him at full-back or even potentially see how he features in the heart of defence at points, but either way it’s another talented body through the door as he continues his rebuild at the club and it’s a signing plenty of fans in the fanbase are happy to welcome given what we’ve seen of him so far.
