Gerrard makes move to land £315k-rated star at Rangers this summer

|

Rangers are considering signing Derby County defender Max Lowe this summer, according to The Daily Record.

The paper say Steven Gerrard has made contact with former England teammate and current Derby boss Frank Lampard about a potential move to Ibrox.

Lowe has impressed on loan at Aberdeen this season making 41 appearances for Derek McInnes’ side in all competitions.

The Dons are understandably also keen on signing him again ahead of the new season, although Lampard is said to be uninterested in letting the £315,000-rated star leave the English Championship outfit on a permanent basis.

As a loan option we could do a lot worse this summer with the 22-year-old certain to add Scottish Premiership quality back-up in support of Borna Barisic.

Our transfer resources will be stretched pretty thin in the upcoming transfer window in other areas of the pitch and if we can add quality depth to the defence with a budget loan move then I’m all in favour of it.
