Gerrard hints at exciting Rangers summer after meetings with money men at Ibrox

|

Steven Gerrard has had two meetings with Rangers chairman Dave King in recent days and is satisfied with plans for the summer and next season, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The Ibrox boss is of course celebrating a thumping derby victory over Celtic that has given everyone associated with the club and supporters real belief ahead of the new campaign.

Still, there’s no room for complacency and that’s why the club are already hard at work planning how to approach the summer transfer window.

Gerrard has made it clear in the media previously he is looking to add quality to his squad to bring the Gers to the next level and after meeting King is happy we are moving in the right direction.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, he said after today’s match:

We’ve had a couple of meetings over the last couple of days and everything’s okay. I’m satisfied with what I’ve heard.

We’ve analysed the season together, it was very positive.

The end of the season has come at a bad time for us as we’re in a great place, we’re in good shape. But it’s important we rest, physically and mentally, then we get ready for next season.

We need next season to be big and everyone’s got to be a part of that.

It’s clear the manager is keen to get going as soon as possible in 2019/20.

With summer qualifiers arriving soon and pre-season training not even that far away, everything will happen quickly after our final match next weekend and it’s key we get as much transfer business possible done early.

He is in tune with the chairman which can only be positive moving forward and perhaps a sign our ambition will match the expectation of both the manager and supporters.
