Gerrard has some good news about important Rangers regular

|

Since his loan move to Rangers, Joe Worrall has been a fantastic option for Steven Gerrard. Our defence has arguably been the weakest facet of our squad at points this term, but the talent that the young central defender has is clear.

Has he been faultless? Certainly not, but he’s turned up when it has really mattered this season, and we’re hoping that the second half of the season will be even better than the first for him.

Fortunately, Steven Gerrard has some good news on that front, as the manager has confirmed that he’ll be remaining with the club for the rest of the season, despite Nottingham Forest having a recall clause in the deal.

As per the Nottingham Post, he said: “We’ve spoken to Nottingham Forest and I think in the deal they had up until January 7 to call Joe back and we never heard anything from it. So Joe will remain here for the rest of the season”.

This is, of course, great news for us. It was a steady learning curve at the start of the year, but he’s come on leaps and bounds since then, and he’s produced more than a few last ditch tackles and brilliant headers over the course of the campaign.

He’s played 11 league games for us this term, and we’re expecting many more to come. We lack defensive quality, but as long as he stays with us and keeps improving, we’ll be in good shape.
