Gerrard gives exciting Rangers transfer update – club is ready to strike for quality additions

|

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard believes the club is ready to striker for the quality players he needs to turn the side into a title-winning force next season, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The paper say the Ibrox boss is desperate to add a creative midfielder to his squad ahead of the new campaign, having already captured Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie to bolster the wide areas.

With our pre-contract business mostly completed, Gerrard is now focusing on bigger deals down the line.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, he commented today on last summer’s business and what he wants this time:

We felt as if we needed big changes in a lot of areas and we wanted to freshen it up with a lot of newness because we felt it was broken and fractured in certain areas as a club, the feeling.

There was a lot of negativity around so that was the reason we made a lot of changes.

We feel as if we’ve got a decent squad here, a good team. But to get to the next level now we feel it’s about having quality.

At the moment we can only strike for the frees that are out there, for the pre-contracts which we’ve done.

When the window opens we want to go and strike for the areas of the pitch where we feel that we need real quality to take us to the next level as well.

It’s certainly an exciting time to be a Rangers fan, with most believing we already have a squad and a first-team that can improve over the summer and compete for major honours.

Adding that extra quality is key though and clearly the manager is looking to delight supporters with some big signings over the next few months.

I can’t wait to see who might be coming to the club.
