Gerrard discusses selection headache he faces at Rangers

|

As quoted by the Express, Steven Gerrard has discussed the selection dilemma he currently faces at Rangers with Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos both worthy starters up top.

The two strikers have both started this season in great form and both are looking sharp, with one scoring and then the other getting two.

At the weekend, of course, Morelos bagged the opener to set us on our way against St Johnstone whilst Jermain Defoe hit two towards the end of the game.

It seems as though it’s Morelos just edging things at the moment after his showing on Thursday night against Feyenoord, with Gerrard discussing the selection headache he’s got after the game with the Saints – and particularly talking about ‘El Bufalo:’

“He’s in terrific form.

“I thought on Thursday night for the majority of the game he was unplayable. That’s the reason I kept him in.

“It’s always tempting to make the change when you’ve got Jermain Defoe there, but while he’s like this we need to keep him on the pitch because he’s such a threat.”

He’s a top striker and we’re lucky to have two top forwards doing the business at the moment.

Keeping them both happy will be tough but if Gerrard does so we’re looking pretty.
