Gerrard discusses player being good enough for Rangers after this season

|

Rangers will be back in European action later on this week and are looking good to get themselves into the final round of qualifying in the Europa League.

They hold a 4-2 lead over FC Midtjylland at the moment and should be able to see things through at Ibrox, before heading into the final round before the groups – hopefully.

Indeed, with both Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos in superb goal-scoring form at the moment, it is clear that we have a good chance against pretty much any side, and manager Steven Gerrard seems to have left the door open for Defoe to stay put past this season.

Quoted by the Daily Record, he had this to say about the veteran forward:

“He can score goals for Rangers for this season and, if I can predict, probably after this season as well.”

I’d like to see Defoe stay at the club past this season, for sure, and it seems as though Gerrard thinks he’ll be good enough to do so too.
