Gerrard discusses outlandish Rangers transfer rumours

|

Steven Gerrard has refused to be drawn on Rangers transfer rumours such as the one linking the club with a move for Andre Gray this summer.

The Herald reported last week that the Gers were pursuing a loan move for the Watford forward, which considering he has played many games for the English Premier League outfit this season would be a sensational transfer.

Gerrard though wasn’t in the mood to discuss any potential move for the player prior to this weekend’s match against Hibernian.

When asked about Gray, the Rangers boss told The Daily Record:

I get asked every single week about a different name or a different player. I get all my press cuttings and briefed on all my press and there’s four or five different names every press conference.

So I’m wasting my time and your time until there’s any truth or substance. It’s just all speculation, unfortunately.

Clearly fans will have to remain patient until the summer for Rangers’ main additions to the first-team squad.

We know that Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie are on the way, with Greg Stewart possibly signing on a free transfer too.

However, with plenty of work left on the squad, the exciting marquee signings would likely arrive much closer to the new league season.

With Gerrard not giving much away, we’ll have plenty of weeks and months of rumours to digest until any firm announcements.
