With it being well known that Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty will miss this weekend’s clash with Hamilton Academicals following his absence from Northern Ireland international duty during the October break, manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed Eros Grezda is in his thoughts.

With the 23-year-old player being restricted to only three appearances for Rangers so far following his arrival late on in the August transfer window from Osijek, he improved his own fitness further during the international break and speaking to the media in today’s pre-game press conference the gaffer confirmed that he was available for Sunday’s action, so will presumably be in the matchday squad.

With some calls to start him so fans can really see what he’s about given the flashes seen so far, I’d think it would be far more likely that he’ll be on the substitutes bench and get the opportunity to shine again in the final 45 minutes on the day.

In other news, he also confirmed that Lassana Coulibaly, through ‘no fault of his own’ arrived back late on Friday from his international trip, but he expected him to be fit and ready to go for the game as well.

Scott Arfield is doubtful with a hamstring issue, but even if he misses this game, Gerrard expects him to be back for next Sunday.
