Steven Gerrard has always come across as a man of his word and someone with serious integrity and it looks as though another example of that is about to be displayed.
After our convincing 4-0 win over St Joseph’s earlier this week, the boss revealed that a new defender was on the way and he hoped to get it done in the coming days – via the Express.
And, as we get to the end of the week it looks as though the identity of the imminent signing has been revealed with Scandinavian outlet Aftonbladet revealing it’s set to be Filip Helander.
Indeed, the towering defender has, according to the report, agreed to sign for the Gers and the deal will be confirmed shortly, which is certainly pleasing to see.
We’ve needed another centre-back this summer and it appears as though Gerrard has got his man – just as he said he would.
