Preparations for the new 2018/19 season have more than begun at Rangers.

With the appointment of former Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard to the position of gaffer, this week has seen the appointment of his backroom boys as plans continue to take shape.

Joining the club are Gary McAllister, Michael Beale, Tom Culshaw and Jordan Milsom.

McAllister takes up the position of assistant manager and carries plenty of experience having held that role at a number of clubs since he hung up his boots. Beale joins as first-team coach, Culshaw as technical coach and Milson takes the role of head of performance.

Colin Stewart obviously continues as goalkeeping coach at the club.

McAllister’s appointment could, in fact, be genius given Gerrard’s lack of experience at first-team level.

In other staffing news, former interim head coach Graeme Murty has now ended his sabbatical following his spell in charge and Sky Sports reported the other day that he has resumed his former position of U20’s coach.

Despite his departure with three games of the campaign remaining given our dip in form, the door was left open for him and he has now walked back through that door and returned to the Rangers Training Centre last Tuesday.

All systems go for the Rangers Gerrard revolution!
