Rangers supporters continue to be impressed with the progress of on-loan midfield talent Greg Docherty, with the 22-year-old clearly enjoying his loan spell at English League One outfit Shrewsbury Town.
Docherty played a starring role in their unlikely FA Cup draw against top-flight side Wolves on Saturday afternoon, netting a stunning goal in a 2-2 home result which will be taken to a replay.
He has now scored eight goals and assisted another eight times this season, emerging as one of the top midfield prospects in the division.
Sent out on loan by Steven Gerrard to prove himself, he’s doing all the right things in that regard and will surely challenge for a first-team place when he returns to the squad this summer.
Some are even calling for him to come up the road early, but in my book he can only benefit from the regular action he is getting right now and should be hungry to make an impact during pre-season.
These fans were impressed with his Saturday goal and took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
This Greg docherty looks decent..heard he's a rangers fan too. https://t.co/wG9h1VqQce

Fans will want him back but he’s come on leaps since he’s went out and that’s not something that would have happened if he stayed. Like you say, let him keep doing well and he will come back in preseason flying.

If we don’t give him a chance next season then there is something wrong at our club especially after signing kamara
