Future of 31-year-old becomes a lot clearer after latest report

|

According to the Scottish Sun, Kyle Lafferty has been told that he can leave the club this summer and that he is free to look for new employment.

The Gers are on their summer training camp in Portugal at the moment with some of the new signings getting the chance to mix with their new team-mates.

However, they won’t be doing that with Lafferty as the striker has been left out of the squad and has been told that he can look for a new side for next season.

Lafferty’s latest spell at Ibrox only began last summer when Steven Gerrard signed him as a challenge to Alfredo Morelos.

He simply has not done enough to really force himself into the side, though, and with Jermain Defoe arriving in January, it surely seems as though he is well down the pecking order.

Indeed, he might not be at the club for much longer now.
