Scott McDonald has tweeted recently that he would not be surprised if Mike Ashley tried to get more control at Rangers off of Dave King in the future.

The Sports Direct businessman is no stranger to controversy and Newcastle United fans are certainly far from impressed with what he has done at their club.

There’s a chance he could sell up, though, and McDonald has suggested on Twitter that that might actually mean he looks to get more involved north of the border.

He wrote on Twitter – via the Sun:

“If he does sell ???????????????? wouldn’t surprise me if he tries to take on Dave King for full control at Rangers.”

And, that said, I can only hope that the former Hoop is wide of the mark or just trying to wind us up a bit.

Whilst Ashley has cash he doesn’t exactly spend it on the football clubs he is apparently interested in and with his record, I’d rather he was as little involved as possible to be honest with you.
