Rangers pre-match press conference has taken place today, ahead of tomorrow evening’s trip to Perth to take on St Johnstone.

The pressure is on, given what has happened in the last few weeks, but the champions will have to get the job done without the services of 5 first-team players.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst confirmed that Aaron Ramsey is still unavailable, as are Ryan Jack and Filip Helander. Amad Diallo and Steven Davis will also not be in the squad at McDiarmid Park.

Again, the January business comes under the spotlight. The two main players who arrived in the last window will not have an impact in this next game, just as was the case on Sunday when none of the four new signings made it onto the pitch. We needed quality and an injection into the first team but the demands are falling on the usual faces.

Ahead of the full screening of the presser, the message appeared to be that the play is ok but better is needed in both boxes.

Regardless of talk, it is action that is required. The individual mistakes just can’t go on and Giovanni van Bronckhorst should be reflecting on some poor decsions of his own against Motherwell, particularly in the second half. Thankfully the next game is almost upon us and two wins over the next four games can bring back much needed momentum with just 10 games of the season left to play.
