Rangers are looking to offload mifielder Graham Dorrans during the summer transfer window, as reported by website Football Insider.

The outlet reckon that a decision has been taken on Dorrans, who joined the club from Norwich City for a reported £1.5m in 2017, by the Ibrox hierarchy after a season of serious injury problems.

The boyhood Rangers fans only managed three appearances under Steven Gerrard before having to undergo knee surgery that has kept him out of action since September.

Having only played another 20 games on top of that last season, it’s clear his contribution just hasn’t been quite there despite decent showings when he is fit.

Even if Dorrans returned to fitness tomorrow he would find himself struggling to compete with players like Scott Arfield, Ryan Jack, Steven Davis, Ross McCrorie and Glen Kamara in the heart of Gerrard’s midfield.

Football Insider say that while he has one year left on his deal at Ibrox, the club are even considering coming to a mutual agreement that would allow him to leave Glasgow for nothing and sign elsewhere, with not many buyers expected.

The news comes after reports from The Daily Mail that Scott Arfield could be set for a shock summer move to Southampton, meaning Gerrard could have big decisions to make in his first-team.
