Rangers done Alfredo Morelos proud last night.

The fine achievement from the player in scoring his 100th goal for the club was marked in a loud and clear manner from all of the club’s online outlets.

This followed praise from the manager, Steven Gerrard, who stated that there is even more to come from Morelos.

As well as the midnight release of the full complilation of his 100 goals, the tributes flowed on Twitter and it is fair to say that this one captured the imagination of the fans:

The responses on the club’s official Twitter feed were overwhelmingly positive and very appreciative toward the Colombian international, including the following:

@dec_1872 – “The best tweet I’ve ever seen in my life. Going to unlike it so I can like it again”

@LaudrupsHair – “Love you @morelos2106″

@stemcook1872 – This is melting me. Well played Alfie & media team.”

@penacartel – “Buff propaganda will always be appreciated”

@offiicalrg90 – “Love him or hate him, he’s box office.”

@borisboboba – “Very Proud”

Achievement

With his nod of the ball into the net in Paisley, which sealed the win for Rangers, the man from Cerete, Cordoba in Colombia joins an illustrious band of players at Ibrox.

He becomes the 18th player (post war) to hit the 100 goals tally.

49 of his strikes were scored with his right foot, 25 on the left peg and another 25 headed goals.

The one ‘other goal’ came via his upper body after chasing down a backpass against Dundee United at Ibrox, last season.

In terms of the location, over half (51) of the goals have bulged the nets at Ibrox, with 47 away from home and the two remaining goals landed at Hampden in the 2019 League Cup semi-final against Hearts.

Alfredo Morelos also holds the honour of being Rangers all-time record goalscorer in Europe with an in-play tally of 25 – the same percentage of his overall total.

Felicidades, amigo!
