A letter from the office of the Czech President has emerged, which takes a scathing view toward Rangers and UEFA in the aftermath of the ban meted out to Ondrej Kudela.

The communication sent to the members of UEFA’s disciplinary and ethics committee was signed off by Vratislav Mynář, ‘Head of the Office of the President of the Republic’.

It can be viewed in full, here.

Hyperbole

Taken from the English section of the President’s website, a few of the incendiary remarks within the letter include:

“Nevertheless, you have decided on a completely unprecedented punishment for a player who did not harm anyone and only verbally – according to his statement – offended his opponent. You condemn a decent person without a single piece of evidence.”

“All this just to fulfill the perverted expectations of a small group of activists and a club unable to win on the field, all the more so by shouting empty and hurtful phrases about racism.”

“Your efforts can lead to the opposite, a situation where a person with a color other than black will be discriminated against, oppressed and deprived of their rights. That is why I also consider it necessary to oppose this procedure.”

“Your efforts can lead to the opposite, a situation where a person with a color other than black will be discriminated against, oppressed and deprived of their rights.”

“We will not kneel before you and no threats apply to the Czech football fan.”

If this is the height of Czech diplomacy, it really does leave a lot to be desired.

The good people of the Czech Republic must be cringing with embarrassment at this rant.

It is truly dystopian bluster that would make the bold Donald Trump blush.

This debacle takes a further ridiculous race to the bottom.
