He’s magic, you know.

The form and fare of Malik Tillman is echoing back to Germany, abetted by the controversial and crazy events of Sunday’s game against Partick Thistle and everything that followed.

The German-American has given an interview to respected football magazine Kicker in the country of his birth, discussing his current situation in Glasgow, with one-eye on his parent club. Unsurprisingly, he was asked about a potential return to the Allianz Arena but in an increasing sign of his maturity off the pitch, to match the progress on it, Tillman never missed a beat. His responses were informative, interesting but open, just like his contract situation.

He is definitely wanted at Ibrox but whether that translates to a permanent move remains to be seen. Rangers do hold a purchase option but it is believed that Bayern also retain an exclusive buy-back option, should they wish.

The message from the US international is that he wants to play top team football at a high level, encouraging for Rangers, when asked on any preference for next season:

“I just want to play as much as possible. I don’t care, but I don’t really care where that will be. I feel comfortable here, very much so. I’m bringing in my performances, which I think they like quite well here at Rangers. But I could also imagine that Bayern really like it. That’s why… exit open.”

For now, everyone at Ibrox simply must enjoy and appreciate the quality and ability that Malik Tillman is providing. With at least two trophies to play for and win, it can be a relatively successful end to the season, especially if the 20-year old continues to make his mark.
