Former Rangers favourite Kevin Thomson last night hit out in defence of himself against an alleged ‘bully’ Mark Magennis, from their youth days at Coventry City.

The furious exchange came from nowhere on Twitter, where the Rangers coach had initially been responding to a comment from BBC pundit Michael Stewart on the Ryan Hedges red card incident in Rangers 2-1 victory at Aberdeen yesterday.

Magennis got himself involved by directing a message at the former Rangers and Hibs midfielder regarding a very unpleasant situation that happened at Coventry City, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

He stated, “Remember you got the Henry at Coventry and started crying…told your mum and dad and I was nearly sacked..lol…luky Richard Money was in a good mood lol.”

This appeared to infuriate Thomson who responded with fury. He said, “You are a p****, and I mean a p****, one thing I’d tell you is you’d not do it to me now that’s a fact! B***end. “#Bullyboy thought you a big man, you’d do nowt if I got a hold of you now.”

The twice capped Scotland international player had previously spoken out on what he described as a ‘humiliating ordeal’ for a 15 year old to deal with in a time that he felt ‘isolated and alone’.

The nature and intention of the message does not reflect well on Magennis at all, given that it appeared to be boastful and antagonising.

When the subject is of a ‘ritual’ involving aggression, touching and control, it is totally unacceptable.

Back in 2018, Coventry City FC were said to be “taking the accusations seriously.”

As of today, Magennis appeared to have deleted his Twitter account.
