Y Viva Espana! Europa League Final week is here and the Rangers are heading to sunny Seville for a shot at glory – it doesn’t get much better than this.

Yes, the last few days have been a blur. Sleep has been a luxury, anticipation, excitement, nervousness all included but the wait is almost over.

Now is the time to move with many supporter journeys already underway to be followed by tens of thousands more heading for southern Spain over the next two days.

Social media is a fun place right now, with so many pictures, videos and stories to amuse.

We’re on our way!

Manchester 2008 came and went with disappointment. An amazing run by Walter Smith’s team built on defensive solidity came unstuck in the final when the game had to be won over 90 minutes – that remains this time round but 14 years later so much is so different.

The make-up, qualities, strengths and adaptability of the current crop under Gio van Bronckhorst is greater overall than last time out. There is a quite confidence, a belief and a determination that this is our time, that is shared by the supporters. All of that and more was represented in the semi-final second leg against RB Leipzig at Ibrox.

Rangers are going all out to win, but Eintracht Frankfurt will have something to say about that. The Germans will similarly feel that they have already beaten better teams in their campaign to this point.

For now, it’s about enjoyment, memories, happy times and making the most of a special occasion. It is an obvious understatement that European final don’t come around often for Scottish clubs as this level is supposedly above out glass ceiling.

Not this time. Rangers are here. Seville is calling and a chance for immortality beckons for this Rangers team. Make us dream.
