Marseille are interested in Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos as they prepare to find a replacement for in-form striker Mario Balotelli, as reported by The Daily Record.

The paper say that the £18m-rated (Transfermarkt) former Liverpool and Manchester City man could be on his way back to Italy this summer after scoring seven goals in nine appearances for the French club since joining in January.

Club Director of Football Andoni Zubizarreta is said to be keen on replacing his presence in the Marseille team with a big move for Rangers star Morelos.

The Colombian, as every Gers fan knows, has had an excellent season at Ibrox, scoring 29 goals and assisting 11 times in 45 appearances.

His disciplinary record obviously hasn’t been the best, but he’s been the most effective striker in the country by a distance, also winning caps with a talented Colombia national team.

It’s all seen his stock rise higher than ever before and should ensure some cash-rich clubs are interested in his services this summer.

That means Marseille will likely need to weigh in with a big bid to secure his future if they are truly interested.

The only thing certain about Morelos right now is he won’t be leaving Scotland cheaply.

Do you think Rangers should cash in on Alfredo Morelos this summer? Have your say in the comments below…

  • Rangers need to dump this clown immediately, for that money we can seriously challenge Celtic next season, if not, forget it, too far behind on the financial clout of the hoops.

  • Sell him for decent money and sort the team out in areas that need attention and lets give celtic some competition next season!! Hes a good player but obviously his attitude and behaviour are a different thing completely to much of a liability.

  • See ya! £15 million would do the trick. It’s all about the Rangers, NOT Frodo! Watp Rtid ????????????????????????

  • He’ll definately thrive outside SFA. And good luck enticing top quality SA players to play in Scotland now after his experience. If your not a Scot in this league you “take it” but don’t “give it back” or it’s straight red .. plus abuse from your own fans.. SFA is a joke!!

  • Morrelass has to thank Steven Gerrad for the position he finds himself in now , some people might disagree with me but he has lost us the title this year leaving us with ten men and getting banned for quiet a few .If these big clubs are interested in him let him go but make sure we get top dollar for him !!!
