According to Football Insider, Middlesbrough are aiming to beat Rangers to the signing of Alan Hutton with an offer that the Gers might not be able – or want – to match.

The Gers have had an excellent window this summer, I think that is fair to say.

We’ve signed some good players like Joe Aribo and George Edmundson this summer and the squad is looking healthy, even if we don’t sign anyone else.

Hutton could be one man that doesn’t come in, then, with Middlesbrough apparently very eager to sign the free agent up on a contract before too long.

He was released by Aston Villa after they earned promotion to the Premier League and he has been looking for a club ever since.

As the report highlights, we have apparently looked at him, but to be honest I personally wouldn’t be that bothered if he didn’t come back to the club this summer.

  • When where Rangers ever in for Hutton?. Just more paper talk, another case of throw enough sh*t at the wall see if any of it sticks
