‘Empty jersey’, ‘Drop him’ – Many Rangers fans were fuming with one player despite win

Ovie Ejaria in action for Rangers

Rangers battled hard to pick up a massive 2-1 win away to Hearts on Sunday, but not everyone got pass marks from supporters after the match.

Steven Gerrard’s side have moved to the top of the Scottish Premiership after goals from Connor Goldson and Alfredo Morelos cancelled out a Gareth McAuley own goal opener.

It was undoubtedly a difficult 90 minutes for the team, made even more difficult by Scott Arfield’s preventable sending off.

It was another midfielder that left many fans fuming though – Ovie Ejaria.

The Liverpool loanee was unconvincing in midfield, with plenty feeling that he continues to offer Gerrard’s team little on a week-to-week basis.

Some now even feel that he should be dropped and a suitable replacement found in next month’s January transfer window.

Ejaria is clearly a favourite of the manager given the amount of opportunities he’s had this season, but should the Gers turn to a more physical and committed midfielder going forward?
