Rangers moved closer to finishing in second place behind Hearts in the Championship, and head into the play-offs as runners-up ahead of Hibernian – who play Livingston on Wednesday, following a win at Dumbarton.
A full debut to remember saw Hardie among the goalscorers as we came from behind to win three-one at the Bet Butler Stadium on Saturday.
Dumbarton, who will stay in the Championship next season – and that’s the aim that they had, should have been behind instantly but Clark was unable to take a great chance and then we were stunned as Wilson (2) scored with a fine strike as he volleyed past Bell minutes into the goal.
At the other end Dumbarton ‘keeper Rodgers had plenty to do, making a fine saw from McCulloch and also denying McGregor and another Law effort before Hardie (10) drew us as he followed up, after Rodgers had half stopped, to make sure.
One-one is how it stayed at thy break with us unable to add a second….
Hardie (48) did add his second, and put us ahead, minutes into the second half though and Vuckic (52), who continues to prove that he was a worthy addition from the ‘Newcastle Five’, as he added his latest goal with a fine strike and our third four-minutes later.
That was that, Dumbarton’s fight was over and we picked up three-points to move four clear of Hibernian with two-matches to play, they’ve got three due to now having that game in hand following their Scottish Cup involvement, which also ended for them on Saturday.
