SPL chief Neil Doncaster has explained the reason for the delay to voting on financial fair play penalties is down to tensions running high.

Talking on BBC’s sportsound program tonight, Doncaster said: ‘Passions are running high, And the right thing to do is let some of the heat come out of the situation.’

He continued: ‘Let clarity emerge from Ibrox over the next few days and, in that context, potentially get round the table again next Monday. What’s important is that we have a full set of financial fair play rules to ensure there’s a motivation to live within your means.’

For me this is utter rubbish, how can you get clarity from Ibrox whilst this vote is hanging over us. Does Doncaster not know that this is only further delaying clarity because any takeover bid is dependent on the outocme of this.

Bill Miller, one of the bidders has said his offer depends on Rangers facing no further penalties. He is not going to go through with any takeover until he knows the outcome of this.
