Rangers fans are not happy with captain James Tavernier after his costly mistake in today’s Scottish Premiership loss away to Celtic.

Losing the match 2-1 after a late James Forrest goal, Tavernier’s unfortunate contribution in the build up to that effort directly contributed to the defeat.

He slackly played the ball back into no man’s land, which was capitalised on by Callum McGregor, who fed the ball into Odsonne Edouard, who delivered the final ball and assist for Forrest.

We’re now 13 points behind Celtic at the top of the table, with our title challenge in tatters.

It’s one of a number of defensive howlers from the 27-year-old during his career at the club and for many it appears to be the final straw when it comes to their judgement of the player.

Should Steven Gerrard consider selling him when the summer transfer window opens?

These supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his Sunday display…

Do you think James Tavernier’s time at Rangers is coming to an end after that mistake? Have your say in the comments below…

  • Tav simply not good enough for rangers…morellis not got respect for manager or rangers FC…they have to go…..take what we get for them

  • Please get rid of Morelos,Tavernier,Worrel,Goldston, strengthen our defence an get a striker that can stay on the field

  • Ive never rated Tav,ive always said he cant defend, other supporters think hes god,i would have got rid of him ages ago, hope he doesnt play another game for us,its long overdue !!!

  • Said it for years, we will never win anything with Tavanier in our team. The fact he is captain makes it worse. Been living off his penalty successes from too long. Can’t be trusted to defend. Always an accident waiting to happen.

  • Morelas Tav and Worrel must go!
Steven G. must listen to the fans they are not daft

    New captain ASAP

  • I have said for years tavernier is a liability he made two identical mistakes against hearts at tyncastle in the one game which was obvious he couldn’t learn from his mistakes the amount of times he has lost the ball and instead of busting a gut to get back he walks back not good enough for a rangers player let alone a captain sandy Jardine never walked back to try and atone for a mistake I would like the job of looking into videos of our games and assessing what went wrong and who was a fault Need to sell tav and morelos and get in people who can stay on the park and know the level of performance and effort required of rangers players
