Rangers fans are concerned about Steven Gerrard’s side after watching the team lose 2-1 away to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.

The Gers have again lost ground on Celtic at the top of the table after the Hoops demolished St Mirren 4-0 at home and the defeat at Rugby Park was a damaging one for fans’ confidence in Gerrard and his men.

The Ibrox boss experimented somewhat from his trusted formations this season, opting to play both Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos together in attack.

Defoe poked home the opener early on but most fans recognised that playing both did not work out throughout the rest of the match and are now worried about the pair partnering up going forward.

A lot of money is being spent on Defoe’s wages and there could be pressure on Gerrard to play him consistently.

Has the manager backed himself into a corner with this signing?
