There is just no need for it.

Given the events at Ibrox last night, there is very little doubt as to who were the instigators and aggressors in the ugly spat on the pitch when Glen Kamara was racially abused.

Kamara and Bongani Zungu were front and centre, in their horrified reaction to the words of Ondrek Kudela, as he slyly made his way for the unassuming Kamara, before covering his mouth to insult the Finland international up close.

Here is how the Daily Record have spun the story, leading on comment from Motherwell chief exec, Alan Burrows.

‘Rangers racism row’.

What an astonishing choice of words to use.

It is known that the Daily Record don’t have a good relationship with the Rangers hierarchy and no wonder, with nonsense like this.

It is really difficult to see how this is not deliberate, malicious and very clearly, misleading.

Whilst it won’t come as a surprise, it is just not good enough – there is no need for it.

Yes, writers will use artistic license and click-bait to an extent, but this is just beyond the pale.

This issue is a Slavia Prague racism row and no amount of victim-blaming can cover up that fact.
