Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been an often criticised player at Ibrox as despite clear talent, he can be wasteful and frustrating – especially given the demands and expectations that surround the Gers.

The 22-year-old’s record at the club is good though, following his arrival back in the summer of 2017 from HJK Helsinki, he has 18 goals in a total of 39 starting appearances with a further seven showings from the bench.

My usual source for statistics lets me down here, however, as not only have Soccerbase not updated yet in light of victory over St Mirren at the weekend, they seemed to have erred on his goal tally in 2018/19 as apparently he hasn’t scored a single goal yet.

We know that’s not true, he found the net against St Mirren, he found the net against Maribor and he found the net against Osijek. They do list his red card though.

It’s fair to say, fans are pretty happy with his showings so far.

First of many more to come in the league – you wouldn’t doubt it would you.
