Rangers welcomed St Mirren to Ibrox for the latest Premiership clash of the 2018/19 season on Sunday and there was certainly plenty for fans to crow about.
A fantastic debut for Borna Barisic as he showed his performance against us in the Europa League wasn’t a one-off, two goals, Steven Gerrard’s first win in the domestic league, we remain unbeaten – pick out your own highlight.
On social media plenty of Gers fans did and although we must ask ourselves questions about discipline as we went down to ten men for a second league game on the trot, plenty were willing to laud the first team playing squad and the atmosphere and desire Gerrard has instilled in them, for not crumbling when we went down to ten men.
That kind of backbone and strength come the end of the campaign will be worth points on its own.
Barisic wasn’t the only one to come in for praise, Lassana Coulibaly was again a man of the moment for his performances in the middle of the park, and after criticism over pre-season, Alfredo Morelos slammed another goal down the throats of his critics. Even Jon Flanagan came in for praise!
Not a bad day all in I’m sure you’ll agree.
Oh – I almost forgot Connor Goldson – my mistake.
Borna Barisic is an absolute baller btw

Coulibaly, best player on the park again. What a difference he’s made. Flanagan, solid as a rock. Barisić, absolute wand of a left peg. Night and day compared to last two seasons.

McCrorie looked a red from where we were. Like to see it again but it looked like he lunged in after they cut us open, one and only time. Last man. Either way, that's another cracking test of character with ten men. Barisic is a bit of real quality btw, no question.

From where I was It looked like his touch was to take it around McGregor. Looked a red all day long.

I thought Barisic looked very classy. A leader too.

The delivery from both of them is something else!

Barasic looked like he’d been playing for us for years.

I would have had Ejaria and Kent off at halftime

Comfortable win, even with ten. Good to get a clean sheet. Barisic looks class. Goldson’s distribution is superb and will open up a few defences this season. We’re also now a real threat from set pieces.

The only question at the moment is how long can we keep this going before an inevitable dip as it always happens in the game. How we react, is what will be important.
