Rangers confirmed yesterday evening that club skipper, James Tavernier, had signed a new and improved contract at Ibrox keeping him with us until the summer of 2022.
Absolutely over the moon to extend my contract for this great club! #2022 ????⚪️???? pic.twitter.com/SNvL4OjnFi

With the 26-year-old subject of plenty of speculation ahead of the closure of the August transfer window – namely links to West Bromwich Albion with an offer coming in late on deadline day itself – this should put to bed any lingering speculation about his future and whether or not it was a case of manager Steven Gerrard not wanting him to leave or the club wanting a better price.
Having moved north of the border from Wigan Athletic as a free agent back in the summer of 2015, he now has well over 100 appearances to his name with us, and he’s returned 30 goals in that period.
14 of those appearances have come in 2018/19, as have four of the goals.

Brilliant James. I know it’s a short career and you could chase the wealth down south but it must be a real buzz having 51K fans worship you and you get to be in a team that always should be challenging for silverwear and playing in Europe. Looking back that’s what memories are
